Cooper's 1st Birthday!

Wake up call!  Cooper rolled out of his crib at 9:00
We got him all ready for his birthday photo shoot at Foto fly

Photo shoot from 10:30-1:30

On the way home, Cooper took a nap (1:30- 3:45)

Coop played with sister and helped mess up the house for our guests while Mommy made the cakes.  1 for Cooper to destroy, 1 for the rest of us to eat. (3:45-6:00)
Cooper's cake

Everyone else's cake

7:00  Cooper greeted everyone and played with his new balloon from Grandma Reynolds

7:30 Dinner time!  Cooper ate rolls, chicken, strawberries, and milk

Cake!  We were surprised that he didn't dig in right away.  A few weeks ago, he demolished a piece of cake.  We probably should've just cut him a piece and he might've gone crazy with it.

The after-party (aka tubby time)

Thanks to Grandma & Grandpa Sorenson, Grandma & Grandpa Reynolds, Uncle Cam & Aunt Leila, Uncle Jimmy & Aunt Rylee & Dax for coming to celebrate with us.  We were so glad that Cooper was able to be surrounded by our family for his special day.
After everyone went home, our little family watched a movie together and went to bed.  Cooper had an awesome birthday!  We love our little guy!

Cooper's 8-12 months

8 months
Cooper started crawling a few days after turning 8 months.
We haven't been able to keep him still since.

He also got his first teeth (two on the same day) shortly after turning 8 mo.
This picture was taken a lot closer to 9 mo. though.

 9 months
Cooper loves "playing" with Ellie's kitchen.  Most of the time, it involves dumping out all of the drawers and making a huge mess.  He likes the buttons and sounds.  His favorite foods to "eat" are the hotdogs (teeth marks prove how much he loves them) and french fries.

Cooper also discovered the telephone around this time.  Whenever you tell him to say "Hello," he puts his hand up to his ear and says "H-oh"  He LOVES playing with cell phones and carries on pretend conversations especially with his grandmas and grandpas.

 10 months
Cooper took his first steps shortly after turning 10 months.  He was so happy with himself.

 11 months
This photo was taken when we had a sweltering day in April and just had to set up the pool.
He looks pretty tough, huh?
 riding on Grandma's cooler. :)

12 months
We just had Cooper's pictures taken yesterday (on his birthday) at Foto fly.
The did an awesome job!  Love them.

All about Cooper at 12 months:
His stats-  25.5 lbs    head- 46 cm  height- 29 inches
Food Cooper loves to eat-  maybe I should list everything he doesn't like.  The list would be a lot shorter.  He loves to eat anything we are eating.  He really likes bread, strawberries, ice cream, french fries, anything to drink (including sips of soda pop), crackers, cookies, cheerios, green beans, chicken, spaghetti, olives, ham, cheese, cheese puff snacks, pancakes, and apples.  I'm sure there are more, but I can't remember them all.  He does not like mashed potatoes and canned baby food meat.
Sign language he knows- milk, baby, more.
Words he can say- mamma, dadda, dog dog, hi, bye bye, grandma (maa mah), grandpa (maam-pa),  Ellie (pretty slurred)
Things he knows-  Cooper knows what a baseballs and regular balls are and will get one when you ask him.  He knows some animal sounds like cow, horse, dog, and dinosaur.  He will lay down and put his head down when you tell him to " Go Night-night."  He knows what to do when you say "Arms up" and "High five".  He will show you his tongue and teeth.  When I ask him what is in his mouth, he will spit it out so I can see.  When he is hungry, I will ask him what he wants and he signs "milk".  We think he is a very smart little guy.
Things that melt our hearts- Cooper is very snuggly.  He gives the best sloppy kisses, and pats your back.  He also blows kisses and has just learned how to smell flowers.
Songs he loves to sing-  Cooper has always loved to hear Ellie sing "Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree"  He can do the hand actions to a lot of the song now too.  He loves Patty cake and really loves to dance to anything with a good beat.

So far, Cooper really loves his big sister.  She is such a fun person to play with when she isn't trying to be his mother.  Right now we are trying to teach Cooper not to hit and bite.  He is trying to test us to see if we will react.  I certainly miss my little baby already!

Jabba the Hut syndrome- 7 1/2 months

We totally missed scheduling Cooper's 6 month doctor's visit and when I tried to get it scheduled they put me out an additional three weeks because of Christmas. We finally got him in this morning and our doctor mentioned Cooper's fake disease in the title. ;) These are his stats:

weight- 22 lbs. 9 oz. 91%
height- 28 in. 69%
head- 46 3/4 cm. 94%

Here's what's up with Cooper:
  • He officially turned 7 months on December 18th.
  • He's only about a pound away from 18 month clothes and that's what he got for Christmas!
  • He likes to crawl backwards, roll, stretch out his arms, and do anything he can to get into what he wants. He has been pulling himself up to his knees in his crib and on the entertainment center. Still no forward motion.
  • Coop has eaten almost every veggie and fruit now. The only one he really cringed about was sweet potatoes- I hear ya Coop.
  • He is very ticklish and has a very contagious laugh.
  • Cooper LOVES watching our doggie. He likes to pet him and when the dog is nearby he flails his arms and legs and smiles huge.
  • He has perfected his "high fives" so that it actually makes a sound and will give double fives (a high ten?) He is also waving at people and loves to clap his hands.
  • He is still drooling like crazy. The doctor said that there are four teeth on the way. I just hope they all don't come at once. Aye!
  • Two days ago, Cooper learned how to put himself into a sit while crawling backward. He does it so often now he's a pro.
  • He really loves to eat cereal puffs and other baby snacks. He's been drinking water from a sippy for about a month.
  • He is such a happy boy! We just love him!

6 Months

I'm such a horrible momma these days. I think the camera has sat in the same place since the last post I did about Cooper. I also haven't called to get him in for his well-child check for 6 months. I'll post official stats after that (hopefully).

Cooper. . .
  • officially turned 6 months on the 18th.
  • is still a chunk. He weighs at least 22 pounds (I weighed him a few weeks ago). He needs a onesie that says 'I can eat your baby'.
  • is still in 12 month clothes for a little while.
  • likes to roll around, but hasn't started crawling yet- thank heavens.
  • loves bananas-ate a whole jar the first time he tried them. He's also had apples, and squash so far.
  • adores his big sister. He follows her with his eyes and smiles no matter what else is going on.
  • has laughing fits, especially when Grandma Dollhouse acts crazy.
  • learned how to push the button to make the doggy bark on Grandma's book.
  • gives real soft "high fives".
  • is drooling like crazy.
  • loves to splash in the tub. He also loves to pee in the tub. :)
  • can sit unassisted now, but still won't fit in his Bumbo chair.
  • still loves his jumper.
  • loves his new little cousin 'Baby Dax' and tried to hold his hands when they were first introduced. It was seriously so cute.
